The metal spikes on the saw body ensure optimum grip of the workpiece, for stable working. The chain stops virtually instantly when the trigger switch is released or if the kick-back brake is actuated while sawing. The SKIL 0780 chainsaw also has a lock-off switch and a separate on/off switch to prevent accidental starting.
